Something exciting happened this week… and it came in a very big box!

While Mini Mabel and I were out on one of our usual Cornish walks (sniffing hedgerows, bossing seagulls), a rather large parcel appeared on our doorstep. As soon as we got home, Mabel clocked it immediately—nose twitching, tail up, eyes curious. Whatever it was, she knew it had her name on it.

And she was right.

Mabel had been the lucky winner of an Instagram competition run by the lovely people at Fox & Furb, and inside that box was her prize: a beautiful, brand new Ned Bed.

We received the Small size (60cm x 75cm) in the soft and cheerful Blue & Mint ‘Flump’ fabric—a playful, calming design created by Fox & Furb’s very own Martin 🎨💚. It’s stylish, it’s unique, and it fits into our home like it was always meant to be here.

Once the box was open, Mabel took her time. She had a good sniff, a cautious circle or two… and then—tail wagging ever so slightly—she plopped herself down with a soft little sigh. That was all I needed to know: she loved it. 💤🐾

The Ned Bed has a lovely, relaxed organic shape that suits all of Mabel’s signature lounging poses—whether she’s flopped like royalty or curled up like a little cinnamon bun. It’s filled with recycled crumbled foam, which gives it just the right amount of squish and support. Bonus points from me: the zipped cover is removable and washable at 30°C—ideal for those snack-related moments she insists are accidental. 🍪😇

But there was a brief moment of drama…

Enter Uncle Panda—Mabel’s beloved Greyhound companion and lifelong partner-in-cuddles 🐼💞. Upon seeing the bed, he boldly attempted a takeover. For about five seconds, he truly believed this luxurious new lounging spot was his. Mabel gave him a look that said, “You’re adorable, but no.” Let’s just say boundaries were set, and Panda now has visiting privileges only. 😆

We’ve had the bed a few days now, and it’s already Mabel’s go-to nap zone—whether she’s snoozing in the afternoon sun, supervising the household from her cosy throne, or quietly contemplating her next treat. 💭🌞

One of the things we genuinely love about the Ned Bed is its eco-friendly design. The filling is made using offcut foam that might otherwise go to waste, and that really matters to us. As a family, we’re always working on ways to reduce our waste and live more consciously—whether it’s composting, reusing, or teaching Arnaud the little things that add up to something good 🌍♻️. It feels wonderful knowing this bed reflects the values we try to live by.
